Classification

Quality standards for Nordmann christmastrees

The trees are sorted into two classes:
* The first class in Denmark is called "Original Nordmann"
* The second class is called b trees

The original Nordmann must fit the quality criteria given below
It is crucial that the trees are attractive and sellable

Christmastrees that don't fit these characteristics are called b-trees
The buyer determines the lower quality limit of b-trees

height

The measurements for trees should be as follows:
The plane of section up to the place where the last branch is connected with the main trunk.

The size must always be labeld witch one of the following size, or with a combination of these lenghs:

 075 – 100 cm     175 – 200 cm
100 – 125 cm     200 – 250 cm
125 – 150 cm     250 – 300 cm
150 – 175 cm

base of the tree

The base of the tree, which does not have branches, is measured from the interface to the lower Quirl of the branches. It should constitute at least 5% and not more than 10% of the tree height from trees to 200 cm height. Over 200 cm of trees until 15%, if this is not fixed in the contract.

color

The tree should have a consistent color. The color should be green, but a small color variation in the lower part of the tree is permitted.

form

The width of the tree should not be greater than the height and not smaller than half the tree height.

density

The Quirle of the branches should be evenly distributed the length of the tree, and it should have sufficient Internodien, in order to a long guarantee an even density. A growth rule is nevertheless that the main impulse can be approximately 35% over than last year. The tree can be either open or closed, but the branch angle is often very important for the impression.

The tree must have the following number of Quirle:

* til 175 cm - 4 Quirle
* 175-200 cm - 5 Quirle
* over 200 cm - 6 Quirle

symmetry

The tree must only have one trunk in the approximate center of the tree. The branches must be distributed regularly around the trunk of the tree. These may not be broken or dead branches. The tree must have only one point - an upright, short or long one

needles

They should be evenly distributed. They should not have obvious damage - by insects, algae or game -. It is however permitted to have needles missing on branches of 10-20 cm in length.

cut

To improve the look and to get the right form you can cut branches. However it should not show the interfaces of the tree.
